Why GrantSlate

Built so the draft cannot invent your numbers.

Most writing tools are judged on how good the prose sounds. This one is built around a narrower promise: that nothing in a draft is a fact you did not give us. Here is exactly how that works, and where it stops.

Every number is one you entered

A draft can only use the figures you type into the form: your requested amount, your matching funds, your total project budget, and the numbers on your organization profile. The model is given those as data and told they are the only figures permitted anywhere in the draft. Nothing is estimated, rounded or projected.

We check the arithmetic, in code

Once a draft exists, we read the budget narrative back out of it and add the line items up ourselves. That is addition, not generation, so it is exact. If the lines do not total the amount you requested, we say so before a reviewer does.

We tell you what looks missing

We compare your draft against the funder guidelines you pasted and list the requirements they state, marking each as addressed, missing or unclear. It is a reading of their document, not a promise that you will pass review.

Nothing is finished until you review it

Marking a proposal complete runs through a verification checklist, and PDF exports carry a review watermark until you do. Your review is recorded with a date, so the acknowledgment is a fact on the record rather than an assertion.

When GrantSlate is not the right fit

A tool is only useful if you can tell where it stops. These are the things we do not do, so you can rule us in or out before you spend time here.

  • You need a searchable database of tens of thousands of funders. We search live programs when you ask, but we do not maintain a proprietary funder index.

  • You need pipeline, deadline tracking or reporting across a portfolio of applications. We draft proposals. We do not manage your grant calendar.

  • You want someone else to write the proposal for you. GrantSlate produces a draft you review and finish. It is not a grant-writing service.

  • You need help with federal registrations, exclusion checks or compliance filings. We do not check your SAM.gov status and we do not file anything on your behalf.

See it before you sign up

Two drafts are free and no card is required. You can also read a complete sample draft first, including the figures it was given and how the budget adds up.
